Steam Solution

Steam Trap Series

U.K Spirax Sarco Steam Trap Series includes float-type, thermodynamic, pressure-balanced, bimetallic and inverted bucket types, designed specifically for marine steam systems. It solves problems such as condensed water discharge, air exhaust and steam leakage prevention of marine steam systems during navigation. In marine scenarios, it is widely used in main engine preheating systems (ensuring stable preheating before main engine startup to avoid cold-start wear), fuel oil heating systems (precisely controlling fuel oil temperature to improve combustion efficiency), steam tracing pipelines (preventing decks and pipelines from freezing and cracking in low-temperature sea areas), and marine kitchen and domestic hot water systems (ensuring continuous and stable steam supply to meet the living needs of crew). It also adapts to vibration, sway and corrosion resistance requirements of the marine environment during navigation, ensuring efficient operation of the steam system.

Product Features

Product TypeCore Features
Float-type (FT Series: FT14/FT43/FT44)
  1. Works based on density difference between steam and condensed water, enabling continuous condensed water discharge, ensuring no water accumulation in marine heat exchange equipment.

  2. Built-in automatic air release valve to prevent system air lock.

  3. Stainless steel internal structure, resistant to marine environment corrosion.

  4. Horizontal/vertical installation available, adapting to limited marine space.

  5. Equipped with steam lock breaking device (e.g., FT14C/FT43-C) to cope with pressure fluctuations in marine systems

Thermodynamic Type (TD Series: TD16/TD42/TD32)
  1. Only 1 moving part of hardened stainless steel disc, resistant to marine vibration and water hammer impact, long service life.

  2. Intermittent spray discharge, tight closure without steam leakage.

  3. Heat-resistant (max. 300℃) and freeze-resistant, adapting to high-latitude navigation environment.

  4. Works at any installation angle, adapting to complex marine pipeline layout.

Pressure-Balanced Type
  1. Automatic adjustment based on temperature difference, utilizing sensible heat of condensed water to reduce marine energy waste.

  2. Small size and light weight, saving marine space.

  3. Excellent air discharge performance during startup, avoiding startup failures of marine equipment.

  4. No pipeline disassembly required for maintenance, reducing marine maintenance costs.

Inverted Bucket Type
  1. All stainless steel mechanical components, resistant to seawater corrosion and high pressure (max. 62 Barg).

  2. Good water seal performance, preventing steam leakage.

  3. Equipped with inlet check valve, applicable to marine superheated steam systems.

  4. Robust structure, adapting to long-term bumpy navigation of ships.
