Gas Detection

Portable Single Gas Detector – Gasman

U.K Crowcon Gasman portable gas detector is an ideal companion for ship crew conducting tank entry inspections, equipment maintenance, and daily safety patrols. Its rugged, impact-resistant design (IP65 rating) can withstand collisions likely during deck operations and in confined spaces.Whether detecting oxygen deficiency in enclosed compartments or flammable/toxic gas leaks during repairs, the Gasman provides clear and reliable alarms (95 dB sound, red/blue lights, and vibration). The ultra-lightweight design (toxic gas version weighs only 85g) and long battery life ensure portability and efficiency for crew during extended patrols.

Product Description

The Gasman is a portable single gas detector designed for reliability and impact resistance in harsh environments. Its construction ensures exceptional durability and shock resistance, with an IP65 protection rating. The Gasman supports a wide range of detectable gases and offers six combustible gas calibration options. Featuring a loud alarm and bright visual indicators, it is ideally suited for industries such as oil and gas, chemical, steel plants, wastewater treatment, and public water supply.

Product Features

Features a scratch-resistant polycarbonate casing with excellent anti-electromagnetic interference (EMI) properties, ensuring reliable operation and safety in harsh environments.

Rated IP65 for protection against dust and low-pressure water jets.

Constructed using a synthetic rubber overmolding process for enhanced durability.

Multi-Stage Alarm Systems

  • A 95-decibel audible alarm, combined with a two-stage instantaneous alarm system and TWA (Time-Weighted Average) alerts for toxic gas exposure, ensures prompt evacuation in hazardous situations.

  • A red/blue visual alarm and a built-in vibration alarm provide clear warnings even in high-noise environments.

Detection Capabilities & Power Configuration

  • Suitable for detecting flammable gases, oxygen, and toxic gases.

  • Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are compatible with detectors for all gas types.

  • Non-rechargeable batteries are approved for use only in toxic gas and oxygen detectors.

Operation & Display

  • Real-time display of TWA concentration and peak (STEL) values (selectable).

  • Smart, user-replaceable sensor modules.

  • One-button operation for simplicity and ease of use.

  • A backlit LED screen clearly displays instrument status for easy reading.

Ergonomic Design

  • Ultra-lightweight design.

  • the toxic gas version weighs only 85 grams for maximum portability.
